The Security Systems Division is responsible for:
There are over 50 buildings with security systems containing over 4,000 electronic devices such as: card readers, door contacts, electronic panels, cameras and digital recorders. In addition, there are over 50,000 active ID cards on the system.
Key and core change requests require approval from the building coordinator and require a University Fund and Cost Center. Questions about key and core requests can be directed to the WMU Key Shop.
The Key and Core Request Form was phased out in 2021. Please submit your request via a Bronco Fix-It submission. Select Doors, Locks, Keys & Cores(Category field), Key/Core Requests for faculty/staff (Item field), and then Replacement Key/Core Request (Problem field).
Master keys and keys requiring special authorization are only issued with the permission of the Security Systems Administrator in accordance with the WMU DPS Master Key Issuance procedure.
Key box changes require approval from a supervisor and the WMU Electro-Mechanical Locksmith.

Temporary IDs are issued with the approval of the WMU Security Systems Administrator. Additional electronic access to specific buildings and areas must be approved by building coordinators or those having authority in those areas.
The Temporary ID Card Request Form was phased out in 2021. Please submit your request via a Bronco Fix-It submission. Select Bronco Card (Category field), Card Service for faculty/staff (Item field), and then New Temporary Card Request (Problem field).
These requests usually require a University Fund and Cost Center.
Most electronic access levels to specific buildings and areas are granted/denied by building coordinators or those with authority in those areas. Access level questions or concerns can be directed to the WMU Security Systems Administrator (269-387-2857).
